About the Demonstration
My paintings start with an initial layer of expressive marks which describe my range of motion. As I build layers of paint, each application moves the painting toward a more organized composition. There is a tension in creating order without losing the tactile joy of my early marks.
Follow along as I work on several abstract paintings each in a different stage of my process. As I work, you will see how I use cold wax medium to achieve a variety of thick and thin layers which give my paintings depth and visual texture.
