MEET THE ARTIST

Rachel Broadbent, Landenberg-based artist, creates awe-inspiring landscapes working in chalk pastels. Her work centers on the power of Mother Nature. She is particularly inspired by water and cloud formations as storms move in. After surviving a natural disaster when she was young, she has been consumed with observing the weather and how it affects our world and all the souls that live here. Her goal is to capture the energy of nature, from calm, still moments to the overwhelmingly powerful ones that make you aware of every single particle in your being and surroundings.

She earned her BFA in painting & drawing from Tyler School of Art, Temple Univeristy and taught art in North Carolina and Pennsylvania public schools for 9 years. She has exhibited widely in the Philadelphia area with additional shows in the greater D.C. and Chesapeake Bay areas.
