MEET THE ARTIST

I am inspired by a sense of wonder at the natural world and by the internal lives of animals. My paintings reflect the human connection with the objects and animals they depict as well as the vitality of our environment. My goal is to capture and share a bit of the exuberance, play, and humor I find right here in Chester County.

My work is based in modern realism and enhanced with a healthy dose of imagination. I work in oils, acrylics, and watercolors, depending on which medium best captures the light and emotion of the subject. Beginning with strong abstract shapes, I paint layer after layer to create depth and vibration. These subtle shifts of light and color allow room for the viewer’s own history and mood to engage with the scene.

I pursued my formal art education at the Art Students League in New York City, where I trained in drawing, painting, and printmaking.
