Pysanky is an ancient folk art that involves applying molten beeswax onto the eggshell's surface, creating a barrier that resists subsequent layers of dye. With each layer, the kistka dances across the shell, carving a narrative of interconnected symbols. As the wax is melted away for the final step, a harmonious blend of colors and forms is revealed. My work seeks to honor the profound cultural significance of this art form I learned from my family as a child while infusing it with my personal narrative.
