MEET THE ARTIST

I have been interested in making images throughout my life, early drawing and painting to art school, teaching art, graphic design, drawing, and painting practice in the studio. I make figurative oil paintings, and the special stories told in them. I look at the messy bits—the vulnerability that is part of being human. Using found photos as a starting point, I choose reference material I identify with memories and emotions. Like looking at a long lost scrapbook, the figures are unknown and familiar, there are feelings that expose themselves—whether we want them to or not.

My painting studio is in Phoenixville, PA. Originally from Valhalla NY, live with my husband, John Odell, in Malvern PA
