MEET THE ARTIST

Courtney Barnard is an intuitive expressionist painter known for her evocative acrylic paintings. Born and raised in Chester County, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with honors, from West Chester University.

After some time away to start a family, Courtney came back to painting with a whole new purpose. After reaching rock bottom emotionally, painting became not just something she enjoyed, but a way to heal. Through meditation and journaling, combined with her art practice, Courtney unlocked a new way to express emotions and connect with those going through similar experiences.

She loves using high contrast colors and dramatic brush strokes to convey the vast scale of emotional trauma and levels of feeling. While her paintings come in many sizes, Courtney loves to work large scale to further communicate how deep and dominating our emotions can be. It is her hope that through her raw and honest art, she can encourage others feel and heal their own traumas and build a community of healing and validation for those seeking inner peace.
